Philippine Airlines NEW Business Class! A350, 777 & A330 Upgrades! (2025)

Philippine Airlines is set to transform its fleet with a series of exciting upgrades. The airline's flagship Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft will soon boast luxurious business class suites, mirroring the design of the upcoming Airbus A350-1000 fleet. This upgrade is part of a broader modernization program, with the first A350-1000 expected to arrive in the coming weeks, though the exact date remains uncertain. The airline's President, Richard Nuttall, confirmed that the delivery might be slightly delayed from December to January, pending final confirmation from Airbus.

Philippine Airlines has placed an order for nine A350s, which will serve key destinations in the United States and Canada, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto. The introduction of the A350-1000 is a significant step in the airline's evolution, offering enhanced comfort and entertainment for its passengers.

However, the focus isn't solely on the A350s. Nuttall revealed that the airline is also planning to upgrade its Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 fleet, a project set to commence in late 2027. This upgrade will take approximately three years to complete, and the airline is addressing the supply chain challenges faced by the industry. The refurbishment program is estimated to cost around $14-$15 million for the A330s, with the Boeing 777s requiring a slightly higher investment.

Additionally, Philippine Airlines is enhancing its single-aisle Airbus A321 jets with new business and economy seats. The business class seats feature a 2-2 layout with an increased pitch of 45 inches and a deep 10-inch recline, providing a more comfortable experience. The economy cabin has been reconfigured to offer a more spacious environment, albeit with a slight reduction in seat count. The introduction of seatback video screens and USB charging outlets is a significant improvement, ensuring passengers stay entertained and connected during their flights.

The A321s undergoing the upgrade this year will be followed by nine more in 2026 and the final six in 2027. These A321ceo 'classic' models will be joined by the A321neo series, which features lie-flat business class seats, though still in a 2-2 layout. This dual approach allows Philippine Airlines to cater to the growing demand for domestic and regional flights, particularly in Cebu, which is being developed into a major inter-island and international hub.

The airline's strategic upgrades aim to enhance the overall passenger experience, ensuring that travelers enjoy a comfortable and entertaining journey, whether they are flying long-haul or domestic routes.
